Position: Mechanical Services Engineer
​
We are looking for an experienced, talented Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our small but dynamic & friendly team.
You should have a proven track record of successfully delivering UK building services projects, and be able to demonstrate familiarity with RIBA work stages and associated duties. Working with our great team, you’ll be creating and progressing building services designs for new builds and refurbishments in all types of buildings.
The role is full time and permanent, with flexibility to work from home or our Bristol office.

Start date as soon as possible.

Salary range £40k to £50k

Job Description
Position: Mechanical Services Engineer
​
Responsibilities:
-
Negotiating and developing project contracts; agreeing these with Clients.
-
Responsible for working with Clients to create building services design solutions across a range of sectors.
-
Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders, architects and surveyors.
-
Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems, commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors.
-
Work on varied projects, both regional and national, at all stages of design from survey and feasibility to detailed design and onto site. Attend meetings with clients and on site as required. Construction duties to include site inspections and practical completion checks.

Production of project documents as appropriate.

Forecasting spend, ensuring that work is kept to budget and energy efficient systems are implemented.

Ensure projects are delivered to quality standard, project time scales, within budget and to Client satisfaction.

Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.

Attending regular team meetings and reporting to our Director.

​Person Specification
Position: Mechanical Services Engineer
​
Knowledge Criteria:
An awareness of BIM would be great.
Working knowledge of these design packages is preferable but not a necessity: ​

Revit
-
AutoCAD​
​​
Skills:
-
Confidence to take projects forward during design and on site.

Good ‘people person’ who is happy to collaborate with other disciplines, external suppliers and construction parties on our projects.

Great communicator in person and at virtual meetings. Clear & concise written work.

Focused on low carbon solutions, ready to further develop an expertise in sustainable engineering.
-
Able to recognise and solve problems quickly and sensibly, talking to the right people and considering all the options, sometimes with a bit of lateral thinking.

Experience:

You should have a proven track record of successfully delivering UK building services projects
-
Be able to demonstrate familiarity with RIBA work stages and associated duties.
-
You should be able to demonstrate proven experience within a similar role
-
Produce building service designs across a wide range of new and refurbished buildings.
-
Monitor the quality of deliverables and give feedback where changes are needed.
-
Oversee the installation of building systems, commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors.
-
Maintaining the highest standards of CDM, health and safety, conduct and quality awareness.

Qualifications:

Degree / HND / HNC qualified

Circumstances:
-
Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday.
-
Flexible working supported, through compressed hours.
-
Hours may be worked remotely and in our office.
-
This a full time permanent position, based in both our Bristol office and your own home office.
-
Suitable home office set-up will be required, including reliable broadband connection.
-
You’ll need to travel to and from meetings with clients and sites to support our projects, which can be based across the UK, therefore a full driving licence is necessary.
